2025 Xmas Party

On Saturday 29 November 2025 the Penrith RSL Pipes and Drums held their annual Xmas Party and awards afternoon at the Penrith Naval Museum. Although not all members were able to make the event, at least 30 members did and enjoyed the day. On offer for the team was a huge range of food and drinks, organised by Sheena and Stacey. Thank you ladies.

Well, 2025 has been a very busy year where the band managed to achieve the following:

Performed at multiple Highland Gatherings and Festivals around NSW, including Bundanoon, Penrith Show, Hunter Valley Highland Gathering, Greek National Day, ANZA Day events (Penrith, Emu Plains, Blacktown and in the City), Remembrance Day Events (Penrith and Blacktown), St Mary’s Spring Festival, Bunnings - South Penrith multiple times, multiple funerals, opening ceremony at the Penrith Netball, weddings and birthday parties, to name a few.

We fully serviced all our drums and harnesses and purchased smaller pancake drums for the children. We also purchased hard cases to protect our investment when travelling and storing,

The band continued to improved our friendship with local businesses and community clubs,

The band was chosen to perform at the Sydney Opera House at the ANZAC Eve Sunset Tribute Concert, as shown on national TV CH7, and

The band will be performing at the Carols by Candlelight on national TV CH7 just prior to Xmas.

The day also gave us the opportunity to acknowledge a number of members who have gone above and beyond. The following members received awards:

2025 Most Outstanding Band Member - Deb Bennett

In closing I would like to thank every member of the band, and their families, for all their efforts and sacrifices during the year. The band is going from strength to strength and are excited about 2026, when the band will host the Inaugural Penrith Highland Festival on 03 Oct at the Penrith Paceway.
